I was marathon'ing Community today, and I just got to the paintball episode towards the end of the first season. My god, that's probably my favorite episode of the show by far. |

So Girls ended last Sunday and I finally sat down to watch the season finale, and man this show is so fucking good. It's really hard to make a show about intentionally unlikeable people, but Girls pulls it off incredibly well. While the four leads are all entitled, whiny, and have unrealistic expectations about growing up, the show does a fantastic job of humanizing their psyches and allowing us to kind of sympathize with them in a way. Also, it has Adam, who is an incredibly well-written character. The way he starts out as a bit of a pig and you start peeling back layers beneath his rough exterior is so nicely done that he kind of feels like the "heart" of the show. Plus, Adam Driver plays him fantastically. I hope more people see this when Season 2 rolls around. |
